Background:

Tall and slim, graceful in his movements and a master of silence, Trowa Barton is a mystery from the time we meet him. He is always serious, and mostly somber, except for the time he spends with Quatre. He gets along with Heero to the extent that both are men of few words and are rarely distracted from their focus on the fighting they do. But Trowa's silence is haunting in its depth. Trowa feels closed, a reluctant spectator in the world rather than a willing participant.

Like Heero and Duo, Trowa lost his parents early on in life and was raised in an all-male mercenary group. Following the death of those in the mercenary who were his 'guardians', Trowa traveled and at some point, Trowa begins to work as an entertainer for a circus. His job was to be an acrobat and a clown, and the mask he wore seems appropriate and highly symbolic of Trowa's future air of mystery. In the series, Trowa finds a circus on Earth and meets it's knifethrower, Catherine Bloom. When Trowa lost his memory, Catherine took care of him and told him that she was his 'sister'. Catherine just wants to 'protect' Trowa from the war.

Of all the pilots, Trowa is the one that seems the most reluctant to address his lost past. A tragedy is lurking there, you can almost feel it, but the mask of the clown is expertly worn and covers almost everything regarding who Trowa really is and how he came to be fighting for L3 colony.����

Natsume's Comments:

Trowa is my favorite character in the whole series, along with Duo. Most people would prefer Heero over Trowa.... I don't. There's just something about him that I like. Maybe it's the wierd hair. I love anime guys with 'wierd hair' (examples: Sanosuke, Hiei, Tasuki). Or, maybe it's because he's so mysterious.
I hate Catherine (for those who don't know her, she's the annoying knifethrower at the circus who slapped trowa, *grrrrr!!!!*). Doesn't she ever stop annoying him and mind her own business. (Sorry, Catherine fans!)
